Lessons on Managing Your Energy

Everyone and everything that shows up in the world of form in this universe originates not from a particle, as quantum physics teaches us, but from an energy field….That energy field can be called God, soul, spirit, or consciousness. ~Wayne Dyer

Ever come in contact with someone that energy just crackles with chaos? How do you feel when you are with another person? Do you sense that you are picking up energy from them for the bad or the good? Last night I drove to the bay area for a presentation that I had wanted to see on Thrive, the Foster and Kimberly Gamble movie. They were there hosting the event. Well, I was on the roster, and had a long ride, so invited a couple of people on the way, to join me. It was a great learning experience, because they certainly showed that energy can shake up your world. These two people knew each other a little, lived in different communities, although I didn't know them at all. They argued the entire way about anything and everything: what lane to be in, the best directions to take, etc. even though I had "Seri" engaged and was perfectly navigating our route. By the time we had gotten there the macaroni salad one person laid on the dash ended the 3 hour trip to the facility laying on the floor. The trip back home wasn't any better, even after we dropped the other person off after the hour ride to her house. I thought things would settle down, but he was on a roll and continued his diatribe. I tried silence, he continued. I finally thought I was offering a true and warm-hearted story that he would find interesting, calming, etc. However, he continued to agitate and push. I was grateful when I dropped him off and was released from the energy, which was overpowering. Even though I knew what was going on, it was a difficult learning experience, Science now knows that the heart’s electromagnetic field contains coding, that is transmitted inside and outside of the body. Negative emotions create caustic, chaotic energy that reverberates both inside and around you to disrupt lives in all who are in the proximity. One of the most significant findings of research related to this field is that intentionally generated positive emotions can change this information coding. That means that care, compassion, love or other positive emotion are absorbed by the body, and then transferred externally to people in close proximity or even, perhaps, over long distances. The downside is that the reverse is true. I thought I had left the role of therapist long ago... Exhausted at midnight, it was extremely hard to bring positive energy into the car, but I do believe I succeeded at the end. I used a softer voice, continually working with the emotions thrown around the car. :) While I made a negative experience OK, understand that not everyone wants to feel good. Some have a learned response to their environment: agitating others make them feel alive, at least they are feeling something. We all have a bad day once in a while, but this was not the case. So, just a heads up, it is even more reason to learn to manage emotions! Shirley
